Deb Naybor of Paul Smiths College says, ” “In these days of finger pointing and aggression, it’s difficult to know how to respond to what is happening around us. But it is more important than ever to think about how we are perceived by others, and to act as a role model in this time of chaos. How do we define a “good citizen” today? And what does that mean on a global scale? How do those who don’t know us, judge us based on our actions?”
Dr. Deb Naybor (Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies at Paul Smiths College) has volunteered in 22 countries, and built model programs in the USA, Asia, and Africa that create social conscience and encourage empathy for others. She will discuss the small things that can make a big difference in the lives of others, and ways in which local actions can have global impacts. Living on this planet comes with responsibilities, but they don’t to be wrapped in guilt or come with a price tag. Learn how to make positive change one step at a time. Please bring YOUR ideas, and examples of things you have done as well, so we can all share.
