A contemplative service on cultivating humility, reverence, and gratitude on day at a time — as an alternative to a New Year’s resolution. We move through our lives one day (or one moment) at a time, yet our minds can become preoccupied with the past — or fret about the future. It’s a small wonder that only about 4 in 10 people make a New Year’s resolution, and then only a small fraction of that actually keep them. In contrast, many wisdom traditions teach living in the moment: being open to life’s lessons, being thankful, and being aware of the sacredness of life.
